Frequently asked questions
Can patio furniture stay outside all year?
Ours can: stainless steel frames, teak and Dekton stone are made for it. Bring the cushions in for long rain and winter, because the foam lasts longer dry.
Does teak patio furniture need oiling?
No. Left untreated, teak weathers to an even silver-grey. Oil it once a year only if you want to keep the honey color.
Are the frames stainless steel?
Most are: stainless steel to EN 10088 (1.4306, AISI 304L), powder-coated black. The Arvid lounge chair and the Anton and Leo outdoor coffee tables have powder-coated steel frames.
Do the cushions fade in the sun?
No. They are solution-dyed olefin, so the color runs through the fibre and the sun does not bleach it.
How many people does the Diana garden table seat?
Four at 63 in, six at 94.5 in and eight at 110 in on the long sides, with one more at each end.
What seat height for a garden dining table?
18.1 in for a 30 in table. Every garden dining chair we make, Signe, Edith, Elsy and Isa, has a 18.1 in seat.
Can I use a pressure washer on patio furniture?
No. It can damage both teak and the powder coat. Water, mild soap and a soft brush once a year are enough.

What survives outside?
Stainless steel, teak, sintered stone, solution-dyed olefin.
Most of our garden frames are stainless steel (EN 10088, 1.4306, AISI 304L), powder-coated black and welded in Sweden. Seats and tops are A-grade teak, Dekton sintered stone or olefin cushions, chosen because they cope with sun, rain and frost.
Does teak need oiling?
No. Left alone, it weathers to silver-grey.
Our teak is A-grade plantation teak, bought as FSC-certified timber and slatted so rain drains through. Untreated, it turns an even silver-grey and lasts. If you prefer the warm honey tone, oil it once a year. Wash it in spring with water and a soft brush.

Can the cushions stay out?
A shower is fine. Long rain and winter, bring them in.
Our cushions are Sunproof Fontelina olefin, 100% solution-dyed, with a weathering fastness of 7 to 8 and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The fabric dries quickly, but the foam inside lasts longer kept dry. Covers lift off; wash with mild soapy water and air-dry on edge.

How do I look after it?
Once a year, in spring. Never a pressure washer.
Wash teak with water, mild soap and a soft brush; wipe powder-coated steel with a damp cloth; clean Dekton with any household cleaner. Bring the cushions in for long rain and winter. A pressure washer can damage both teak and the powder coat, so leave it in the shed.
