Every dining chair is made in our own factory in Sweden: steel frames are welded and powder-coated, oak frames are machined, lacquered and joined, and seats are upholstered by hand. Only the raw materials come from suppliers.

If something does not hold up
Email info@by-crea.com with your order number and a few photos, and we will assess it with you. We do not re-cover chairs, but every seat and seat cushion is sold separately, so a worn seat never means a new chair.

Five things worth knowing.
18 to 19.5 in for a 30 in table.
A standard dining chair has a 17.7 to 18.9 in seat for a 28.5 to 30 in table. Ours sit at 18.1 in (Sella, Bella, Isabell), 18.9 in (Erik) and 19.7 in (Karin), and all of them fit our 30 in tables.

Allow 23.5 in of table edge per armless chair and 27.5 in per chair with armrests. Keep 35.5 in of floor behind every chair. Our Ann table seats four at 63 in, six at 94.5 in and eight at 110 in; round Luna seats four at 43.5 in and six at 55 in.
Arms for long dinners, armless for tight rooms.
Choose armrests for comfort through long meals and support when you stand up; choose armless chairs for small rooms and round tables. A classic mix is two chairs with arms at the ends and armless chairs along the sides.
Oak
SteelWarm oak or slim steel.
Erik and Karin are solid FSC-certified oak, sealed with a matte lacquer that never needs oiling. Sella, Bella and Isabell have welded steel frames, tested by RISE, Sweden, to EN 16139.
Vegan leather, velvet, bouclé or oak.
Vegan leather wipes clean and suits children, velvet is the softest, bouclé is tested for claws and suits pets. Erik and Karin also come with a solid oak seat. Every seat is sold separately, so the fabric can be changed later.

Our production
EN 16139 is the European strength and durability standard for non-domestic seating. RISE tested Sella to level 2 and Isabell to level 1, and assessed Bella as meeting level 1. Separately, we rate every chair for 440 lbs.

The standard seat height of a dining chair is 17.7 to 18.9 in, measured from the floor to the top of the seat.
As a rule of thumb, allow 23.5 in of table edge per chair, or 27.5 in for chairs with armrests.
Dining chairs with arms are more comfortable for long meals and easier to get up from; armless chairs take less space and slide fully under the table.
Wooden chairs are harder-wearing and easier to clean; upholstered chairs are softer and quieter; neither is better in every home.
A tightly woven or coated fabric that wipes clean and is rated for heavy wear; which one is best depends on who sits at your table.
Vacuum it regularly with a soft brush attachment, blot spills the moment they happen, and clean marks with lukewarm water, a little mild soap and a soft cloth.
