by Crea® uses solid FSC-certified oak, sourced from responsibly managed forests. Solid oak is chosen for its structural strength, stability, and long service life, rather than engineered or veneered alternatives.

How is the oak treated and finished?

Oak surfaces are treated with durable, functional finishes designed to protect the wood in daily use. The focus is on resistance to wear, moisture, and dirt rather than high-gloss or decorative shine. This allows the wood to remain tactile and natural while being suitable for everyday furniture use.

Does solid oak change in appearance over time?

Yes. Natural colour variation and gradual ageing are normal characteristics of solid oak. Exposure to light and air can cause the wood to deepen or warm in tone over time. This is not a defect, but a natural process that reflects the material’s authenticity.

Why does by Crea® use solid oak instead of veneer or composite wood?

Solid oak is used because it offers greater durability, repairability, and long-term stability. Unlike veneered or composite materials, solid oak can be maintained, refinished if needed, and continue to perform structurally over many years of daily use.
