Erik Dining Chair

Design your own

Description

Erik is a solid oak dining chair with armrests, a backrest and a sculpted two-piece seat, here entirely in natural oak, handcrafted in Sweden from FSC-certified German oak.

Our only oak dining chair with armrests, built like a small piece of architecture: rails, rests and seat all in the same continuous grain. The two-piece seat inclines gently toward the centre, the armrests carry your shoulders through long dinners, and the matte lacquer keeps the oak's natural feel.

Like every by Crea original, Erik is designed by Alexandra Pettersson and handcrafted from solid FSC-certified German oak in our Malmö factory, and it arrives fully assembled. It carries 200 kg, the warranty runs ten years, and repair beats replacement here, with spare parts available long after purchase. It is sized for standard dining tables of 72 to 76 cm, with full dimensions in the dropdown below. Each one is made to order and ships in 18 to 20 days.

“Erik shows what solid oak can do when you keep every line clean – a dining chair built to be part of the family for decades.”
— Alexandra Pettersson

Durability & Certifications

The Erik dining chair is covered by a 10-year warranty, and every seat is rated for a maximum load of 200 kg (440 lbs).

It is crafted from solid A-grade German oak, FSC-certified, meaning the wood comes from responsibly managed forests, and is finished and assembled in our own factory in Malmö, Sweden.

The surface is sealed with a natural matte lacquer that protects the wood while keeping its natural feel.

Care & Maintenance

Wood

Clean down with a microfibercloth, lukewarm water and a very neutral washing agent. Do NOT use acidic solutions.
Our Oak furniture is lacquered with an industrial lacquer that will fade over time. It is a protective layer. By using acidic solutions you will be removing this protection.

NEVER leave metal pans, pots or candleholders on top of an oak top. Oak naturally has tannic acids that will leave a black round mark if you leave metal objects on the surface.

Delivery, Returns & Assembly

Delivered to your door. 100% free returns on test pieces. Minimal assembly required.

FAQ

Yes. Erik suits standard dining tables 72-76 cm high; just check that your tabletop or apron leaves clearance for the armrests when the chair is pushed in. Allow 65-70 cm of table width per chair so the armrests stay clear.

Armrests make long dinners noticeably more relaxed and give you support when sitting down and standing up. Erik is our only oak dining chair with armrests, combined with a backrest and a sculpted two-piece seat.

Yes. We do not offer a re-covering service, but seats can be bought separately: solid oak in the same finish as the frame, or a bouclé seat upholstered over a plywood core. The sculpted two-piece shape is the same on both, so the seat type can be changed later.

Wipe the oak with a damp cloth and mild soap and keep it out of strong sunlight and away from radiators. A bouclé seat just needs spills blotted quickly and a gentle clean with lukewarm water.

No. Oak chairs sit comfortably against painted, stone and darker wood tables, and a contrasting chair often looks more considered than a matched set. Erik comes in Oak, Dark Oak and Black Oak, so you can match the tone of your table or contrast it on purpose.

Yes. Order wood and bouclé samples, or a complete test chair with free returns, and live with it at your own table for a while.

Solid A-grade FSC-certified German oak, a 200 kg (440 lbs) seat rating and a 10-year warranty. Every Erik is built and inspected by hand in our own factory in Malmö, Sweden.
