Description
Freja is a minimalist Scandinavian bar stool, drawn as much as it is built. One slim line of powder-coated steel travels up from the floor, around the seat and into a low back, and that is the whole stool. Each one is handmade in Sweden for kitchen islands and breakfast bars, in counter height (66 cm / 26 in), bar height (76 cm / 30 in) or any custom height through Design Your Own.
In Jade Black on the black frame, the reduction goes one step further. The matte cushion is the only volume the eye finds, a soft square held in a dark outline, and the room around it does the decorating. The seat is upholstered in Spradling Valencia vegan leather, fine grained, wiped clean with a damp cloth, unbothered by years of morning coffee. The back sits low on purpose. It is there for your hand, so the stool pulls out in one motion and slides back flush under the counter.
Designed by Alexandra Pettersson, Freja is an original by Crea, fully welded in one piece from raw Swedish steel in our Malmö factory, and it arrives fully assembled. It carries 200 kg and is covered by our 10-year warranty. Like all by Crea furniture it is built to be repaired rather than replaced, with a screw-mounted cushion you can re-cover and spare parts available long after purchase. The 66 cm seat suits counters of 89 to 92 cm, the 76 cm seat suits bars of 99 to 102 cm, with full dimensions in the dropdown below. Stocked finishes ship in 1 to 5 days.

Fabric
Wipe down with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and neutral washing detergent. Do not use ph acidic or basic solutions like acetone or bleach.
Frame
Wipe with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and a normal cleaning agent. Refrain from using too acidic solutions as this will fade out the outer protection of the powder-coat.
Delivery, Returns & Assembly
Shipping
Shipping is calculated at checkout from your delivery address and the size of your order, so you see the exact cost before you pay. A tracking link reaches you by email the moment your order leaves our factory in Malmö, Sweden.
Delivery time
Orders across Europe are delivered by UPS, normally 3 to 5 working days after dispatch. Made to order pieces are produced first, and that production time is shown on this page.
Assembly
Most of our furniture arrives fully assembled. Dining tables and some outdoor pieces arrive with the top and legs packed separately, and fitting them takes 5 to 10 minutes and one screwdriver.
Returns
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return, provided the piece is unused and in its original condition. Email info@by-crea.com or open the chat and we will arrange it. Return shipping is paid by you at the carrier's actual rate, typically 15 to 20% of the order value, or roughly 30 to 90 EUR per package depending on size and destination. We confirm the exact amount in your own currency before anything is collected.
Custom orders
Anything configured through Design Your Own, with custom dimensions, finishes or materials, is produced specifically for your order and is not eligible for return. Order free samples first, or ask us in the chat, and we will help you get it right the first time.
FAQ
Choose 66 cm (26 in) for worktops 89-92 cm high, and 76 cm (30 in) for bar counters 99-102 cm. The ideal gap between seat and countertop is 23-26 cm; custom heights are available via Design Your Own.
Yes, the seat uses high-density Swedish cold-cut foam (55 kg/m3) that keeps its shape over time, and the low backrest supports your lower back while the stool still slides under the counter. If you want full back support, the Philip bar stool adds a fully upholstered backrest.
Yes. The cushion attaches with two screws and can be ordered separately in any of the Freja fabrics, so you can refresh the colour or replace a worn seat in minutes without replacing the whole stool.
Wipe the cushion with lukewarm water, mild soap and a microfibre cloth. The vegan leather (300,000 Martindale, easy-clean finish) and the powder-coated steel frame both clean easily with a damp cloth.
Allow 50-55 cm of width per stool. A 180 cm kitchen island seats three Freja stools comfortably; with 60 cm per stool the seating feels extra generous.
