Floor Candle Holder: Heights, Safety and Placement

Short answer

Thomas
95-115 cm, in glass
Vera
75-95 cm, open
Group
three, 10 cm steps

Thomas (95, 105, 115 cm) holds a pillar candle inside glass, the flame shielded, for beside a sofa. Vera (75, 85, 95 cm) holds an open dinner candle on a heavy stone base, for a hallway or fireplace corner away from curtains.

Candleholder Thomas – Set of 3 – Black Frame featuring three floor-standing candle holders in black with clear glass cylinders.

A floor candle holder lifts light to the height of a lamp, without a cable. Two kinds exist: the lantern type, where the flame sits in glass, and the candlestick type, with an open flame on a tall stem. They suit different places. This guide is which to use where, what heights do, and how to place them safely.

Glass or open flame?

Glass, like Thomas, if the candle stands near a sofa, a doorway or where people walk past. The 20 cm glass cylinder shields the flame and catches the drips.

Open flame, like Vera, if you want the look of a tall dinner candle in a hall or by a fireplace. The flame is exposed, so keep it away from curtains, shelves and draughts.

Which heights?

In a group, step the heights by about 10 cm. Three Thomas or three Vera read as one piece.

Where do they go?

Beside a sofa or an armchair, in place of a floor lamp. In an empty corner. Either side of a fireplace, a sideboard or a doorway. In a hall, where a lamp would need a socket you do not have.

A group of three in one corner gives more atmosphere than three single holders around the room.

Is a floor candle holder stable?

Thomas stands on a flat round base and Vera on a solid stone base that carries the weight, so neither tips easily on a level floor. On a deep rug, check that the base sits flat.

Keep both out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Glass, stone or steel: which material where?

Each material does one job. Steel is the frame: welded and powder-coated in our own factory in Sweden, slim and strong, on every model. Glass is the shield: Thomas's 20 cm cylinder keeps the flame steady near people and draughts, catches the drips and lifts out to wash. Stone is the weight: Vera's Caesarstone base, 20 x 20 cm of engineered quartz, keeps the slim stem steady without any glass.

So: glass beside the sofa and by doors, a stone base and an open flame in a quiet hall. We do not make wooden, brass or silver candle holders. Steel, glass and stone all wipe clean with a damp cloth; wax comes off as the wax removal guide shows.

Colours

Thomas: black, beige, white and taupe. Vera: black or beige, with the stone base in Turbin Grey or Moorland Fog. When customers ask for grey, they usually mean our beige. We have no separate grey frame.
