Description
Affe is a solid oak pedestal with a round top and a turned, cylindrical form, handmade in Sweden in a dark oak finish and available in two heights: 59 cm (ø30 cm) and 79 cm (ø40 cm).
The tobacco-brown Osmo stain gives the cylinder real depth while the grain glows through, a warmer, older-feeling version of the same simple form. It is less a side table than a plinth: set a vase or an object on top, or place it beside an armchair as a sculptural piece that can hold the occasional book. Not intended for regular dining or desk use.
Like every by Crea original, Affe is designed by Alexandra Pettersson, handcrafted from solid FSC-certified German oak in our own factory in Malmö. The warranty runs ten years, and repair beats replacement here, with spare parts available long after purchase. Full dimensions for both heights are in the dropdown below. Affe also comes in natural oak and black oak.

Care & Maintenance
Wood
Clean down with a microfibercloth, lukewarm water and a very neutral washing agent. Do NOT use acidic solutions.
Our Oak furniture is lacquered with an industrial lacquer that will fade over time. It is a protective layer. By using acidic solutions you will be removing this protection.
NEVER leave metal pans, pots or candleholders on top of an oak top. Oak naturally has tannic acids that will leave a black round mark if you leave metal objects on the surface.
Delivery, Returns & Assembly
Shipping
Shipping is calculated at checkout from your delivery address and the size of your order, so you see the exact cost before you pay. A tracking link reaches you by email the moment your order leaves our factory in Malmö, Sweden.
Delivery time
Orders to the United States are delivered by UPS, normally 2 to 5 business days after dispatch. Made to order pieces are produced first, and that production time is shown on this page.
Assembly
Most of our furniture arrives fully assembled. Dining tables and some outdoor pieces arrive with the top and legs packed separately, and fitting them takes 5 to 10 minutes and one screwdriver.
Returns
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return, provided the piece is unused and in its original condition. Email info@by-crea.com or open the chat and we will arrange it. Return shipping is paid by you at the carrier's actual rate, typically 15 to 20% of the order value, or roughly 35 to 100 USD per package depending on size and destination. We confirm the exact amount before anything is collected.
Custom orders
Anything configured through Design Your Own, with custom dimensions, finishes or materials, is produced specifically for your order and is not eligible for return. Order free samples first, or ask us in the chat, and we will help you get it right the first time.
FAQ
Affe is closer to a plinth than a conventional side table. It's built to display a vase or an object, or to sit beside an armchair for the occasional book, and it isn't intended for regular dining or desk use.
Yes, that's one of its most common uses. The round top and simple cylindrical form suit a plant pot as naturally as a vase or a sculptural object.
The 59 cm (ø30 cm) version is more compact, suited to corners and smaller pots or objects. The 79 cm (ø40 cm) version stands taller, closer to side-table height, and suits larger displays.
A damp cloth is enough for everyday dusting. The oak is sealed with a matte lacquer, so no oiling is ever needed.
