Description
Signe is an outdoor dining chair with a slatted A-grade teak seat and backrest on a fully welded stainless steel frame, powder-coated black, with armrests formed from the frame itself. Handmade in Sweden for terraces, pool decks and outdoor tables.
The teak is plantation grown, A grade, cut into slats and spaced so rain drains straight through. The wood dries from both sides and nothing pools on the surface, which is what keeps a seat sound outdoors over years rather than seasons. Left untreated the teak weathers to an even silver-gray. A coat of teak oil once a year holds the original warm tone instead. The frame is drawn from 1.5 mm wall stainless tube and welded rather than bolted, so there is no fitting anywhere on the chair that can work loose outdoors.
Designed by Alexandra Pettersson and welded in our own factory in Malmö. Signe is 50 cm wide with a 43 cm seat depth and stands 79 cm tall, with the armrests at 65 cm. The 46 cm seat suits outdoor dining tables of 72 to 76 cm, and the chair carries 200 kg. It arrives partly assembled: six screws, about five minutes, no special tools. A seat cushion is available separately. Covered by our 10-year warranty and built to be repaired rather than replaced, with spare parts available long after purchase.

Durability & Certifications
Care & Maintenance
Frame
Wipe with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and a normal cleaning agent. Refrain from using too acidic solutions as this will fade out the outer protection of the powder-coat.
Wood
Clean down with a microfibercloth, lukewarm water and a very neutral washing agent. Do NOT use acidic solutions.
Our Oak furniture is lacquered with an industrial lacquer that will fade over time. It is a protective layer. By using acidic solutions you will be removing this protection.
NEVER leave metal pans, pots or candleholders on top of an oak top. Oak naturally has tannic acids that will leave a black round mark if you leave metal objects on the surface.
Delivery, Returns & Assembly
Shipping
Shipping is calculated at checkout from your delivery address and the size of your order, so you see the exact cost before you pay. A tracking link reaches you by email the moment your order leaves our factory in Malmö, Sweden.
Delivery time
Orders to the United States are delivered by UPS, normally 2 to 5 business days after dispatch. Made to order pieces are produced first, and that production time is shown on this page.
Assembly
Most of our furniture arrives fully assembled. Dining tables and some outdoor pieces arrive with the top and legs packed separately, and fitting them takes 5 to 10 minutes and one screwdriver.
Returns
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return, provided the piece is unused and in its original condition. Email info@by-crea.com or open the chat and we will arrange it. Return shipping is paid by you at the carrier's actual rate, typically 15 to 20% of the order value, or roughly 35 to 100 USD per package depending on size and destination. We confirm the exact amount before anything is collected.
Custom orders
Anything configured through Design Your Own, with custom dimensions, finishes or materials, is produced specifically for your order and is not eligible for return. Order free samples first, or ask us in the chat, and we will help you get it right the first time.
FAQ
The seat sits at 46 cm, which suits outdoor dining tables of 72 to 76 cm. That leaves 26 to 30 cm between the seat and the underside of the table.
Yes. The frame is powder-coated stainless steel rated for permanent outdoor exposure, and A-grade plantation teak is naturally oil-rich, so it needs no sealing to stay structurally sound outdoors.
No. Seat and backrest are slatted, so rain drains straight through and the wood dries from both sides. There is no flat surface for water to sit on.
Nothing at all, if you like the silver-grey. Left untreated the teak weathers to an even patina. To keep the original warm tone, apply teak oil once a year and clean with mild soap and warm water.
No. A seat cushion is available separately and lifts off for drying or winter storage. If you add one, it machine washes cool on a gentle cycle and air dries. The chair is designed to work with it or without it.
