Most stools ask you to choose from what exists. Bruno Design Your Own starts from a taupe powder-coated steel frame with backrest, armrests and integrated footrest, and lets you build the rest: a cushion in vegan leather, bouclé or velvet across the full color range, sewn armrest covers or bare steel, in counter height (66 cm / 26 in), bar height (76 cm / 30 in) or any height you enter yourself.

Every choice renders live in 3D, your fabric on your frame, before anything is built. Because each made-to-order Bruno is welded and upholstered in Malmö, a custom bar stool with armrests is a configuration, not a compromise, and the result is a combination only you have.

Each stool is an original by Crea, designed by Alexandra Pettersson and fully welded from raw Swedish steel, and it arrives fully assembled. It carries 200 kg, is covered by our 10-year warranty and built to be repaired rather than replaced, with spare cushions and parts available long after purchase. Choose 66 cm for counters of 89 to 92 cm, 76 cm for bars of 99 to 102 cm, or set your own height. Made to order in our Malmö factory and shipped in 10 to 15 days.

The Bruno bar stool is covered by a 10-year warranty, and every seat is rated for a maximum load of 200 kg (440 lbs).

Its welded steel frame is tested and certified for intensive commercial use: it complies with EN 16139 Level 2, the European standard for heavy contract use, EN 1022 for stability and EN 1728 for strength and durability. Certified by RISE, Sweden.

Every fabric in the configurator is certified for demanding use: Valencia vegan leather, 300,000 Martindale with the PERMABLOK3 protective finish, EN 1021-1/2 fire safety and a 5-year fabric warranty; Matteo velvet, 130,000 Martindale, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, EN 1021-1; and Dolly bouclé, 50,000 Martindale, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, claw-safe tested to BS 8479.

Care & Maintenance

Fabric

Wipe down with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and neutral washing detergent. Do not use ph acidic or basic solutions like acetone or bleach.

Frame

Wipe with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and a normal cleaning agent. Refrain from using too acidic solutions as this will fade out the outer protection of the powder-coat.

FAQ

The same rule applies as for any stool: 66 cm (26 in) seats suit counters 89-92 cm high, and 76 cm (30 in) seats suit bars 99-102 cm high. Keep 23-26 cm between seat and countertop; custom heights are available via Design Your Own.

Yes, by design. The armrests reach 86 cm total height on the 66 cm seat and 96 cm on the 76 cm seat, both below the recommended counter height for that seat (89-92 cm and 99-102 cm). That puts the armrests under a standard counter or island overhang without touching. If your overhang is unusually shallow, check the exact armrest height in the Dimensions tab against your own clearance first.

Armrests take the weight off your shoulders and make it easier to sit down and stand up, especially for longer sitting. Bruno is our only steel bar stool with armrests, combined with an integrated backrest and footrest.

The seat and armrest upholstery are tailored and fixed to the stool as one piece, so they aren't swapped independently. If it ever needs attention, our 10-year warranty and repair-over-replace approach cover it.

Wipe the upholstery with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth, and the powder-coated frame with a damp cloth. The vegan leather has an easy-clean protective finish and is rated to 300,000 Martindale.

Allow 55-60 cm of width per stool so the armrests never touch, and leave a few centimetres of clearance between the armrests and the counter edge when the stool is tucked in.
