Benches for the hallway, dining table and bedroom
A bench is the piece you use without thinking: to pull on boots, to seat one more at dinner, to drop a jumper at the end of the bed. Ours are made in our own factory in Sweden, in solid oak or slim steel with an upholstered seat, 65, 100 or 130 cm long for one, two or three people. Every bench arrives assembled, with a 10-year warranty.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good height for a bench?
About dining-chair height. Wilma and Alva are 46 cm, so both work in a hallway and at a 76 cm dining table.
How deep should a hallway bench be?
Around 40 cm or less for a narrow hall. Wilma is 39 cm deep and Alva 40 cm. Leave about 60 cm clear in front.
What length bench for the end of a double bed?
A little shorter than the bed is wide: 130 cm for a 140 to 160 cm bed.
How long a bench for a dining table?
Shorter than the gap between the table legs, so it slides under. On a 160 cm table, a 130 cm bench.
Do you make a storage bench?
No. Our benches have open frames, so shoes and baskets fit underneath.
Is the oak bench solid wood?
Yes. Alva is solid oak in every part, in natural, dark or black oak, sealed with a matt lacquer that never needs oiling.
Can I get a longer bench?
Yes. Wilma Design Your Own can be made up to 160 cm.

How long should your bench be?
65, 100 or 130 cm for one, two or three.
Pick the length by where it stands and who sits on it. Wilma and Alva come in 65, 100 and 130 cm; Wilma Design Your Own goes to 160 cm. The square Anton bench is 55 by 55 cm, a single seat for a corner or a dressing table.

Will it fit your hallway?
39 cm deep, so it fits a narrow hall.
In a hallway, depth matters more than length. Wilma is 39 cm deep and Alva 40 cm, both with an open frame so shoes go underneath. We do not make a storage bench: the open frame is the storage.
A bench at the dining table?
Dining-chair height, and shorter than the gap between the legs.
Wilma and Alva sit at 46 cm, the height of a dining chair, so both work at a 76 cm table. Choose a bench shorter than the space between the table legs so it slides under. Alva is made from the same solid oak, in the same finishes, as our Ann, Melker, Diana and Luna tables.
At the end of the bed?
A little shorter than the bed is wide.
An end-of-bed bench should be a little shorter than the bed is wide, so it does not stick out at the sides, and low enough to sit on while you dress. At 46 cm, Wilma and Alva sit below almost any mattress.
Solid oak or upholstered steel?
Warm oak, or a soft seat on slim steel.
Alva is solid oak in natural, dark or black oak, sealed with a matt lacquer that never needs oiling, with a wood seat or a bouclé seat in Ivory or Greige. Wilma comes in Jade Black or Latte vegan leather, or Ivory, Greige or Black bouclé. The Anton bench comes in the same fabrics.
