A bench at the end of the bed is where you sit to put socks on, where tomorrow's clothes go, and where the throw lands at night. It finishes a bedroom the way a headboard does. It only works if it fits the bed and leaves room to walk. This guide is the size, the height, the depth, and which seat to choose.

Slightly shorter than the bed is wide, so the bed frame shows at both ends.

Wilma and Alva are 39 to 40 cm deep. Leave about 60 cm between the bench and a wall or wardrobe to walk past. If the room cannot give 100 cm behind the bed, a bench will crowd it; a pair of bedside tables is the better buy.

Which seat?

Boucle on Wilma or Alva is the soft, quiet bedroom choice: Ivory, Greige or Black. Vegan leather on Wilma wipes clean if clothes and bags land on it daily. A bare oak Alva seat is the minimal option and suits a room with oak floors.

The Anton bench is the square one, 55 by 55 cm, for a corner or a dressing table rather than across the bed.

Storage?
