Description
Melker is a dining table with a fully welded black steel frame and a solid oak top in a black oak finish, handmade in Sweden and available in three lengths: 160, 240 and 280 cm, seating up to four, six or eight.
Black on black, wood on steel: the stained top keeps its visible grain, so the monochrome table still reads unmistakably natural up close, the choice for a dining room built entirely in dark tones that still wants a table that feels like wood underhand rather than lacquer. The black stain is sealed with a natural matte lacquer that needs no oiling, and the slim frame keeps the whole silhouette architectural.
Like every by Crea original, Melker is designed by Alexandra Pettersson, welded from raw Swedish steel and finished in our own factory in Malmö. The warranty runs ten years, and repair beats replacement here, with spare parts available long after purchase. Full dimensions for every length are in the dropdown below. Care & Maintenance
Frame
Wipe with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and a normal cleaning agent. Refrain from using too acidic solutions as this will fade out the outer protection of the powder-coat.
Wood
Clean down with a microfibercloth, lukewarm water and a very neutral washing agent. Do NOT use acidic solutions.
Our Oak furniture is lacquered with an industrial lacquer that will fade over time. It is a protective layer. By using acidic solutions you will be removing this protection.
NEVER leave metal pans, pots or candleholders on top of an oak top. Oak naturally has tannic acids that will leave a black round mark if you leave metal objects on the surface.

FAQ
Melker stands 76 cm tall, the classic dining height that works with standard chairs (seat height around 45–48 cm). All other dimensions for every length are in the dropdown below.
As a rule of thumb: the 160 cm table seats up to four, the 240 cm seats six, and the 280 cm seats eight. If your chairs have armrests, plan a little extra elbow room per seat.
A damp cloth and mild soap is all the daily care the top needs. The oak is sealed with a natural matte lacquer, so no oiling or waxing is ever required. The powder-coated steel frame only needs an occasional wipe.
Choose a rug that extends at least 60–70 cm beyond the tabletop on every side, so chairs stay on the rug even when pulled out. For the 160 cm Melker that means roughly 250 × 290 cm or larger.
Leave about 90 cm between the table edge and the nearest wall or furniture, so chairs can be pulled out and people can walk behind them. The exact tabletop dimensions for every length are in the dropdown below.
Both directions work: chairs in black steel echo the frame for a consistent line, while oak or upholstered chairs soften it. Our steel dining chairs are welded from the same raw Swedish steel in the same Malmö factory.
