With room for both, dining near the kitchen door and lounge where the evening sun lands.
Dining set or lounge set?
Dining if you eat outside: a 76 cm table and 46 cm chairs. Lounge if you sit with a drink and a book: low chairs and a table at seat height.
A dining set
Chairs: Signe and Edith in teak, Elsy and Isa with olefin cushions. A Hedvig or Wilma garden bench on one side seats more in less space.
| People | Table | Chairs |
|---|---|---|
| 4 to 6 | Diana 160 cm | 4 armless along the sides, 2 with arms at the ends |
| 6 to 8 | Diana 240 cm | 6 along the sides, 2 at the ends |
| 8 to 10 | Diana 280 cm | 8 along the sides, 2 at the ends |
A lounge set
One or two lounge chairs, Kenny on mesh with a cushion or Arvid in teak, with a nesting pair of tables between them: Algot in teak, or Anton or Leo outdoor in sintered stone. Add a bench along a wall for guests.
Mix or match?
Keep the frame colour the same, black across the set, and you can mix the seats: teak chairs at the ends, cushioned along the sides, a stone bench against the wall. It looks chosen, not leftover.
Why not a boxed set?
Boxed sets are priced by matching the weakest part: usually plain painted steel and a fabric that fades. Buying pieces separately means each one is chosen to last, and a single chair can be replaced or added later.
