The top is 3 cm, so the underside sits at 73 cm. That underside is what your thighs meet. Measure it on any other table before you mix chairs: a thick sculpted top can steal the gap even when the top height looks standard.
How high is a dining table?
76 cm to the top, on Ann, Diana, Melker and Luna.
How much space between chair and table?
25 to 30 cm from the top of the seat to the tabletop, and at least 20 cm from the seat to the underside or apron.
A 46 cm seat under our 76 cm table leaves 30 cm to the top and 27 cm to the underside. Karin at 50 cm leaves 26 cm and 23 cm. Both sit in the comfort band. The dining chair height guide has the chart per model.
Dining height vs counter and bar
Dining 76 cm. Counter about 90 cm. Bar about 100 cm.
A 66 cm counter stool at a 76 cm table puts your knees up. A dining chair at a 90 cm island puts the worktop at your chest. Buy the surface and the seat as a pair. Bar stool height is a different guide.
Armrests under the table
They have to pass under 73 cm on our tables, or under the apron on someone else's.
Sella arms sit at 64 cm, Erik at 67 cm. Both clear 73 cm. A deep apron on an antique table is the usual surprise. Measure the lowest edge, not the top.
