Karin Dining chair

Design your own

Description

Karin is a solid oak dining chair with a sculpted seat, here in natural oak with the seat upholstered in Ivory Dolly bouclé, handcrafted in Sweden from FSC-certified German oak.

Pale loops on pale grain: a combination that keeps the dining room light all year. The bouclé is upholstered over a plywood core in the same sculpted two-piece shape as the wood seat, claw-safe tested for homes with pets, and the rounded oak backrest does the supporting.

Like every by Crea original, Karin is designed by Alexandra Pettersson and handcrafted from solid FSC-certified German oak in our Malmö factory, and it arrives fully assembled. It carries 200 kg, the warranty runs ten years, and repair beats replacement here, with spare parts available long after purchase. It is sized for standard dining tables of 72 to 76 cm, with full dimensions in the dropdown below. Each one is made to order and ships in 18 to 20 days.

“Karin is our quietest oak chair – honest joinery and clean lines that let the wood do the talking.”
— Alexandra Pettersson

Care & Maintenance

Fabric

Wipe down with a microfiber cloth, lukewarm water and neutral washing detergent. Do not use ph acidic or basic solutions like acetone or bleach.

Wood

Clean down with a microfibercloth, lukewarm water and a very neutral washing agent. Do NOT use acidic solutions.
Our Oak furniture is lacquered with an industrial lacquer that will fade over time. It is a protective layer. By using acidic solutions you will be removing this protection.

NEVER leave metal pans, pots or candleholders on top of an oak top. Oak naturally has tannic acids that will leave a black round mark if you leave metal objects on the surface.

Delivery, Returns & Assembly

Delivered to your door. 100% free returns on test pieces. Minimal assembly required.

FAQ

Karin is made for standard dining tables 72-76 cm high and slides fully under the table between meals. Allow about 60 cm of table width per chair, so a 180 cm table seats six.

Yes. Karin's seat is sculpted from two oak pieces with a gentle incline toward the centre, shaped to follow how you naturally sit. Prefer armrests for longer dinners? Look at the Erik.

Yes. We do not offer a re-covering service, but seats can be bought separately: solid oak in the same finish as the frame, or a bouclé seat upholstered over a plywood core. Both use the same sculpted two-piece shape, so the seat type can also be changed later.

Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap. The matte lacquer seals the wood, so no oiling is needed; just avoid standing water and direct heat sources.

No. Oak chairs sit comfortably against painted, stone and darker wood tables, and a contrasting chair often looks more considered than a matched set. Karin comes in Oak, Dark Oak and Black Oak, so you can echo the table or deliberately break from it.

Yes. Order wood samples of all three finishes, Oak, Dark Oak and Black Oak, or a test chair with free returns, and compare them in your own light at home.
