Selected for longevity. Crafted for life.
At by Crea®, materials are not a design afterthought, they are the design. We choose every steel tube, every oak plank, and every stitch of fabric for how it looks, feels, and ages.
Our FSC certified Oak is sourced from European forests and handled in our Malmö factory.
We test, cut, weld, coat, and upholster everything under one roof, ensuring consistency and traceability from raw form to finished product.
“We do not chase trends. We select textures, colors, and finishes that belong in real homes for decades.”

Our Oak
Our Oak
We work exclusively with FSC-certified European oak, purchased in raw planks and transformed entirely in our Malmö factory. Every board is hand-selected for grain and stability, then cut, glued, sanded, and assembled on site. This gives us complete control of the process and ensures every part meets the same uncompromising standard of strength and finish. For our natural oak, we apply a thin transparent lacquer that protects the surface while keeping the authentic look and feel of solid wood. Over time, you can sand and re-oil it at home, allowing your furniture to last for decades. Oak is a living wood, and we treat it as such. We never use formaldehyde or chemical drying methods to “kill” it. Instead, we let the material breathe and evolve naturally. That means every piece of oak has its own character, subtle shifts in color, grain, and shape that make each chair and table unique. These variations are not imperfections. They’re proof of authenticity, signs that your furniture is made from real, living wood, not engineered composites.
Why we choose solid oak:
- It’s one of the most durable hardwoods in the world, dense and resilient to wear.
- It can be repaired, sanded, and refinished repeatedly, extending its life indefinitely.
- It develops a deeper tone and richer patina with time.
- It’s sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable.
Every grain line tells a story. Every surface feels alive. That’s the truth and beauty of oak, honest materials, crafted for life.

Our Teak
Our Teak
We believe true sustainability begins with making things properly. by Crea® does not overproduce or discard materials, every order is made individually, minimizing waste and storage.
Local production keeps transport emissions low, and our powder coatings contain no solvents or VOCs. Our new replaceable-parts system lets you order specific cushions or seat elements years later, so your furniture can evolve with you without ever being replaced. Durability is our sustainability: the longer a piece lasts, the fewer replacements the world needs.
For our outdoor furniture, we use FSC-certified plantation teak from South America, grown specifically for furniture production, never from wild forests.
Our supplier plants a new tree in Malawi for every tree we purchase, helping local communities economically and ensuring that we give back what we take.
We chose teak after years of testing every other option, oak, ash, acacia, and more. We learned that most woods can only survive outdoors if they’re chemically treated or “killed” to stop them from moving, breathing, or changing. That was never an option for us. We wanted a wood that could live naturally outdoors, the way it was meant to.
Teak is rich in natural oils and silica, which make it uniquely resistant to moisture, rot, and pests without any coatings or synthetic sealants. The oils migrate to the surface over time, forming a self-protecting layer that keeps the wood hydrated and durable. This is why teak has been used for centuries in shipbuilding, it withstands water, salt, and sun better than any other wood. Over the years, untreated teak develops a soft silver-gray patina, but its structure remains just as strong. You can choose to oil it occasionally to preserve the golden tone, or let it age naturally, either way, it will last for decades.
Why we choose teak for outdoors:
- Naturally weatherproof thanks to its high oil content and dense grain.
- Requires no chemical treatment to resist rain, heat, or frost.
- Responsibly sourced, FSC-certified, and replanted to ensure sustainability.
- Ages gracefully, gaining character instead of losing strength.
Every teak piece we build carries the same by Crea® philosophy, real materials, made honestly, designed to last. “We searched for years to find a wood that could live outdoors without being killed first. Teak is that wood.”
Each by Crea® product is a dialogue between materials, the cold precision of steel, the warmth of oak, the softness of fabric, and the strength of stone. Together, they create furniture that feels balanced, tactile, and unmistakably Scandinavian. “We choose materials the way others choose words, carefully, purposefully, and with emotion.”
