Candle holders that bring evening light to the hall and the table

Candlelight changes a room after dark: a tall flame in the hall, a pair beside the sofa, a row along the dining table. Our candle holders are welded and powder-coated in our own factory in Sweden. Thomas and Vera stand on the floor at 75 to 115 cm, and Tom, a hurricane lantern for the table, at 17 to 24 cm. Each carries a 10-year warranty.

Before you choose

Five things worth knowing.

How tall should a candle holder be?

75 to 115 cm on the floor, 17 to 24 cm on a table.

A floor candle holder lifts the flame to the height of a lamp, without a cable. Each model comes in three heights that step by 10 cm, so a set of two or three reads as one piece. On a dining table or a windowsill, Tom keeps the light low.

Where does a floor candle holder go?

In the hall, by the sofa, beside the fireplace.

Put Thomas beside a sofa or a doorway: the glass shields the flame. Give Vera a hall or a fireplace corner, clear of curtains and draughts. Tom belongs on a dining table, a sideboard or a windowsill. Three in one corner give more atmosphere than three spread around the room.

A flame in glass, or an open flame?

Glass for the living room. An open flame for a quiet corner.

Glass keeps the flame steady by an open window or a doorway and catches the drips. An open flame gives the slim look of a tall dinner candle, but it needs space around it. Whichever you choose, never leave a candle burning unattended.

Which candle fits?

Pillar candles in Thomas and Tom. Dinner candles in Vera.

Thomas and Tom take pillar candles that stand inside the glass. Vera holds a slim dinner candle upright in a crown at the top, never a pillar candle. Candles are not included, so you choose your own.

How do you clean the glass?

Lift the glass out and wash it by hand.

The glass cylinder lifts out, so wax and soot wash off by hand; the guide shows how to lift old wax. Neither the steel nor the Caesarstone base needs oil or polish. If a glass breaks, a spare is sold for Thomas and Tom.

Guides and answers

In-depth guides, one question each, and quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best height for a floor candle holder?

Between 75 and 115 cm. Vera stands 75, 85 or 95 cm and Thomas 95, 105 or 115 cm, which lifts the flame to the height of a lamp beside a sofa or in a hall.

Are floor candle holders safe?

Thomas holds the candle inside a glass cylinder that shields the flame. Vera is an open flame, so keep it away from curtains and draughts. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

What candle fits in your candle holders?

Thomas takes a pillar candle up to 9 cm across and 15 cm tall. Tom takes a pillar candle inside its glass. Vera holds a slim dinner candle upright in a crown. Candles are not included.

Can I buy a single candle holder or a set?

Both. Thomas, Vera and Tom are each sold on their own in three heights, as a set of two or as a set of three. Every set of two pairs the tallest and the shortest.

What is Vera's base made of?

Caesarstone, an engineered quartz stone, in Turbin Grey or Moorland Fog. It gives the slim steel stem a steady footing and wipes clean with a damp cloth.

How do I clean the glass?

Lift the glass cylinder out and wash it by hand to remove wax and soot. Wipe the steel with a damp cloth and mild soap. A spare glass is sold for Thomas and Tom.

Which colours do they come in?

Thomas and Tom come in black, beige, white or taupe. Vera has a black or beige frame on Turbin Grey or Moorland Fog stone. Every frame is powder-coated in our own factory in Sweden.

Can I use them outdoors?

No. Thomas, Vera and Tom are made for indoor rooms, not for weather.
